Search terms
A name, location, or other detail entered into a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. This site does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's policy controls its handling of the query.
Messages
An email or contact submission may be retained long enough to read it, respond, maintain a service record, or meet a legal duty. Message content is not shared outside the organization unless service delivery or law requires it.
Automatic Technical Data
Like most websites, the service may receive routine data when a page loads. That data helps operate and troubleshoot the site.

How Data Is Used
Collected data may be used to keep pages available, route search requests to the correct provider, measure which Essex release-record resources are useful, identify errors, protect the service, and display advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests. It is not used to create an official ECSD, MA DOC, court, or parole record.
Outside Websites and Advertising
Links lead to sheriff and corrections offices, MassCourts, federal locators, statutes, and third-party search services. Once a visitor follows one, that destination's privacy policy governs. Advertising partners may use their own cookies or similar technology to measure activity across websites. That collection occurs on their systems and is controlled by their notices and opt-out tools.
Who May Receive Data
Personal data is not sold as a stand-alone list. It may be handled by search partners that process a submitted query, analytics vendors that measure site use, advertising networks that deliver ads, hosting or security providers, and a government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order.
Security Is Best Effort
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no internet service, email system, or storage platform can be promised as fully secure. Visitors should avoid sending Social Security numbers, medical information, victim details, or other sensitive data through ordinary messages.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contact Us page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the ability to verify a request, a person may ask for a copy of personal data held by this site, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, or an opt-out from certain processing. These requests do not control records held by ECSD, Massachusetts agencies, courts, or outside search providers.
Changes to This Notice
This privacy notice may be revised as services or legal duties change. A revised version becomes effective when posted here with its updated effective date.
